Hotelier shot dead by unknown gunmen in Osun

A popular hotelier named Falola Oke Olawuyi, has been shot dead by unknown gunmen in Ilesha, Osun State.

The proprietor of Falola Hotel and Rental Services was gunned down close to his residence around 9.30pm on Wednesday, September 16.

A source who confirmed the incident on Thursday, said that the gunmen shot Oke at close range and immediately fled the scene.

Spokesman of the Osun State Police Command, Yemisi has confirmed the incident.

Meanwhile, friends have taken to Facebook to mourn the deceased. A close associate of the deceased, Isaac Hastrup, described late Oke as "a dogged fighter and a good ambassador" who lived an impactful life.

Illiterates dominate pharmaceutical businesses in Kano – Pharmacists Council of Nigeria

The Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN) says the pharmaceutical business in Kano state is dominated by illiterates who endanger the lives of people who come to them for drug prescriptions. The PCN said it discovered this after a field inspection exercise in majority of the local government areas in Kano State. Pharm. (Mrs.) Anthonia Aruya, a PCN Director of Inspection and Monitoring told newsmen that the association visited 65 pharmacies and 931 PPMV shops during the three-day exercise and discovered that most of the medicine stores are owned by unprofessional who operate without any form of education.
