DJ Khaled and Floyd Mayweather charged by US SEC for Illegally promoting Bitcoin

                             Boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr and music producer DJ Khaled will pay thousands of dollars to settle charges that they violated US financial laws. The US Securities and Exchange Commission announced the settlement on Thursday as the US financial regulator said the men failed to disclose payments they received to promote certain cryptocurrency investments. The men neither admitted nor denied the claims, but agreed to pay combined penalties totalling more than $750,000. The two cases are the first the SEC has brought over touting violations involving initial coin offerings or ICOs, a relatively new investment vehicle associated with crypto-currencies. An ICO allows people to invest in a company by buying "tokens" or "coins" that it issues. Despite the new language, the SEC has warned investors that it views many of the offerings as investments governed by existing securities laws. Those rules require disclosure of payment

Italian man sentenced to 1 year, 8 months for attacking a Nigerian migrant

                                  A Sicilian man was on Thursday, November 29, sentenced to one year and eight months in jail for attacking a Nigerian migrant in Palermo, Bagheria, Italy.    The accused identified as Giuseppe D'Amore hit the Nigerian national,  Fredrick Omonzokpia over the head with a jack in August 2018, in what was described as unprovoked racist attack.                                                                                           

Scammer exposed by Twitter users after he shared photo of a sick child and asked for financial support

                                                 A man tried to scam well-meaning Nigerians by sharing a photo of a sick child and a fake doctor's report in order to get financial support from Twitter users, but he was busted. The man claimed in his tweet that his sick baby was in the hospital and he needed money to pay her bills. At first, a lot of people were sympathetic and were already asking for his account details. But, some people noticed that the photo he used is the photo of a child who has died since. Doctors on Twitter also noticed that the doctor's report was fake and the words scribbled on it made no sense. They went further to check his account and noticed that he just created the Twitter account last week, specifically to scam people. Twitter users have taken to the fake page to drag whoever is behind it. See screenshots below.

See the extent to which a teacher brutalized a 2-year-old girl because she pooped on her body

                               An angry mother has shared a photo of the injuries inflicted on her 2-year-old daughter by her teacher. The mother revealed that the teacher flogged the girl so much because she pooped on her body. In the photo shared on Instagram, the child's fragile back is seen decorated with angry red marks as a result of the brutal beating she suffered. The mother asked other IG users for advise on how best to handle the child abuse incident.

EFCC nabs Lebanese with over $2million cash at Abuja Airport

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC have arrested one Abbas Lakis, a Lebanese for money laundering offence. Lakis was picked up at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, following intelligence report that he had on him, undeclared huge sums of monies aboard the Egypt Airline bringing him from the Kano Airport en route Lebanon. At the point of arrest, a thorough search on his luggage uncovered $2,104,936 (Two Million, One Hundred and Four Thousand, Nine Hundred and Thirty six Dollars), £163, 740 (One Hundred and Sixty Three Thousand, Seven Hundred and Forty Pounds), €144,680 (One Hundred and Forty Four Thousand, Six Hundred and Eighty Euros).                      A Nigerian lady is of the opinion that a serial killer might just be behind all the murder and dismemberment of young ladies witnessed in different parts of Nigeria. 12-year-old girl beheaded in Oghara, Delta State

                                         Suspected ritualists beheaded a 12-year-old girl identified as Eguono in Oghara, Ethiope West Local Government Area of Delta State on Thursday morning Nov 29th.   The incident took place in a compound close to Okwemeva junction along the Scott Road area in Ogharefe, Oghara.   The killing came one month after a 60-year old woman was butchered on October 30, in another part of Oghara.     Oghara is the home country of former Delta state governor, Chief James Ibori and host community to both Delta State University Teaching Hospital (DELSUTH) and the Delta State Polytechnics, Otefe.                                      

35-year-old man arrested with human eyeball to be sold for N250k

                                    The police in Niger state have arrested 35-year-old Shuaibu Ibrahim, a suspected human parts dealer for the possession of human eyeball. According to reports, Shuaibu was apprehended by police detectives attached to Gawu Babangida Division in Gurara LGA of Niger State while on a routine patrol of the area on Thursday November 29th. When interrogated, the suspect said the eyeball was removed from a victim of communal clash between Igbira and Bassa people in Nasarawa State and that he was to sell the eyeball at the cost of N250,000. He said he worked with an accomplice named Ojo who is currently on the run. “My job is to deliver human parts given to me by Ojo to his clients across the northern states. We make quick money in this business but I cannot tell what the buyers use them for,” he said. The police say the suspect will be arraigned in court as soon as investigation is concluded. 

13 suspected cultists hacked to death by angry youths in Benue for killing commercial motorcyclist

                             Thirteen suspected members of a cult group were at the weekend killed in a clash with youths of Lessel community in Ushongo Local Government Area of Benue State.   It was gathered that the bloody clash which lasted over two hours also left several persons with serious injuries.   According to reports, the crisis started when members of the cult group who were in the town for a convention allegedly attacked and killed a commercial motorbike operator whose bike they had attempted to snatch.   The news of the murder of the motorbike operator filtered into town and the youths in the community stormed the cultists' guest house with dangerous weapons"       A fight ensued with some of the cult members hacked to death, while others who were captured alive led the youths to where other members of the group were hiding. Dad kills five family members and friend with machete

                              Seven people have been found dead in a gruesome family massacre that shocked Japan. Six people were found dead in a farmhouse and a seventh in a river.  A father is suspected of using a machete to murder his parents, wife, son, daughter, and a family friend, who was trying to resolve a family dispute. He then took his own life.  Japanese media said farmhouse owner Yasuo Iihoshi, 72, his wife Mihoko, 66, their 21-year-old grandson Takumi, and their seven-year-old granddaughter Yui were among the dead.  They were killed by Masahiro, 42, who is the son of Yasuo and Mihoko and the father of Takumi and Yui. Masahiro's wife Mikiko, 41, and 44-year-old family friend Fumiaki Matsuoka were also found dead. The six were found dead in a farmhouse. A woman's body was found outside, while the other five bodies were inside the house. The man responsible for the mass killing was found dead in a river and is thought to have jumped from a bridge.

Little girl survives after being tied in a cement bag for a week by suspected female kidnapper

                                             A little girl has survived what could have killed many after a female suspected kidnapper, abducted her from her parent's apartment in Ozuoba community, Obio/Akpor local government area of Rivers state and tied her in a cement sack, waiting to be sold off to suspected ritualists. According to multiple sources on Facebook, luck ran out on the woman this afternoon after some residents suspected her foul moves. She was interrogated and confessed to kidnapping the little girl. She took them to the place where she tied the girl inside a cement. The residents quickly untied the sack. Luckily, the girl was still alive. She was rushed to the hospital. The  suspected kidnapper who many described as a wealthy woman in the area, confessed that she had carried out many other of such abductions and that she always handed over her victims to some ritualists she works with
