The suspects holding the photograph of the lady killed. An arrested murder suspect has narrated to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command how and why he killed his married lover in Abuja. The suspect Paul Chukwujekwu Ezengo and his accomplice Emmanuel Adogah were on Thursday paraded along with 23 other suspects arrested for alleged involvement in murder, car snatching, armed robbery and other crimes, The Nation reports. Ezengo and were arrested for allegedly killing Ezengo’s married lover, 44-year old Charity Chidebere Aiyedogbon, to take her Acura Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV). The suspects said they committed the crime after giving her excess alcohol, killed her, mutilated her body and packed it into two sacks that were dumped in a river. NAF Fighter aircraft neutralises Boko Haram terrorists in Borno

Air Commodore Olatokunbo Adesanya The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) says Air Task Force (ATF) of Operation LAFIYA DOLE, has neutralised some Boko Haram terrorists at Parisu and Takwala, both in Borno, through successful air strikes. AVM Olatokunbo Adesanya, NAF’s Director of Public Relations and Information, who confirmed this in a statement on Saturday in Abuja, said the operation was conducted on Friday. “The mission followed the discovery, by NAF Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) platforms, of activities of BHTs in the 2 locations. “Consequently, the ATF detailed two NAF Alpha Jet aircraft, armed with rockets and cannons, to interdict the locations. “Overhead the objective, the NAF fighter aircraft acquired and attacked the objectives with rockets and cannons. “At the end of the mission, it was observed that the attack platforms successfully engaged the remnants of the terrorists hibernating within the settlements and consequently neutralised them,” he sa

Zamfara governor resigns as chief security officer of state.

Gov. Abdulaziz Yari of Zamfara State Governor Abdul’aziz Yari of Zamfara State said he had dropped his responsibility as Chief Security Officer of the state as he had no control over security machinery in the state. Speaking to newsmen in Talata-Mafara on Friday, Yari said that his decision stemmed from the seeming helplessness of the state government and the people over recurring killings in the state. He deplored the prevailing situation where as the chief security officer of the state, he could not take decisions on strategies for protecting the state and its people, and had it implemented. “We have been facing serious security challenges over the years, but in spite of being governor and Chief Security Officer of the state, I cannot direct security officers on what to do nor sanction them when they err. “As Chief Security Officer, the nomenclature is just a name,” he said.
