EFCC Arraigns Businessman Over N3.2m Scam The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, today April 12, 2017 arraigned one Owen Njoku before Justice Sailu Saidu of the Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State on one court charge bordering on obtaining money by false pretence to the tune of Three Million, Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira (N3, 250, 000.00) only. The accused person allegedly collected the sum of Three Million from one Odigwe Cletus for the purchase of three plots of land situated at Ohia Ugiri, Igbo-Etche Rivers State which was later discovered to be false. The accused pleaded not guilty to the charge when it was read to him. In view of his plea, the prosecution counsel A. Osu asked the court to fix a date for the commencement of trial while the defence counsel U.E.Uzobho told the court that he has filed an application for bail.
