An unknown number of people have been wounded, including a police officer, after an 'active shooter' attack at a Chicago hospital.

According to reports, the Chicago police officer was critically injured after gunfire broke out at Mercy Hospital, located in the city's South Side, around 3.20pm on Monday. Police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said the officer is 'in critical condition but receiving excellent care' at University of Chicago Hospital.

The gunman reportedly targeted a woman who was dressed in hospital scrubs in Mercy's parking lot and shot her multiple times. An official said that fewer than six people were believed to have been shot and at least 'one possible offender' was also shot.

An eye witness identified as Hector Aditia said he saw the gunman shoot one victim 'multiple times in the parking lot' and then exchange gunfire with responding officers. A fellow witness Maria Correa told CBS Chicago she heard multiple shots and saw blood in one of the hospital's entrances.

Police are continuing to do a 'methodical search' of the hospital, according to Guglielmi while emergency crews were called to the hospital around 3.20pm and 15 ambulances arrived at the scene.

Court Convicts Two for Money Laundering

                                    The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Gombe Zonal Office has secured the conviction of Mijinyawa B. Kembu and Bello Idris for money laundering offence. Kembu and Idris were arraigned on January 15, 2019 along with their respective companies, Abm Kembu Nigeria Limited and Agsir Nigeria Limited, before Justice N.I. Afolabi of the Federal High Court, Gombe on two counts bordering on “transacting and accepting cash payment exc eeding the threshold provided by Law”. Police bust 'scam gang' in Cambodia, arrest 4 Nigerian men and one Cambodian woman

  Four Nigerian nationals and a Cambodian woman have been arrested in Phnom Penh over alleged scam and money laundering.   The operation was led by lieutenant Neth Savoeun, the police chief and Lieutenant Dy Vichea, the director of the national security department, and Lieutenant Sean Sen, the director of the cybercrime department.   Confirming the arrest on Friday, September 18, lieutenant Savoeun, said that the police received information of a fraud operation and abnormal money transfer from the USA to banks in Cambodia on September 16.   The relevant officers immediately launched an investigation which led to the arrest of the Nigerian men and their female accomplice.    According to report, the suspects 'convinced' some Cambodian citizens to open bank accounts for them which they use for money transfer.
