Lagos police to arraign man for failed suicide attempt, see reason why the man wanted to take his life

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP. Edgal Imohimi has ordered the prosecution of one Mr. Folarin Odukoya, a staff of  China Construction Company of Nigeria Limited (CCCN), for attempted suicide.
Folarin would have taken his own life at about 11pm on Sunday December 17th if not for the vigilance of one Police Sergeant Bankole Adekoya of 23PMF who observed him critically and discovered that he was up to something sinister and thus informed the Ebute Ero  Divisional Police Officer, SP Sina Olunlade  who arrived the scene with local divers.
Folarin on sighting the police team, jumped into the lagoon near the Ebute Ero  Jetty. The divers went after him, rescued and handed him over to the police.
When interrogated, Folarin Odukoya said he wanted to take his own life because his employer allegedly refused to issue him a certificate he believed would have enhance his career.
The CP who had earlier charged all police officers in Lagos to be on the look out for suicidal men and women and to question anybody seen loitering around the bridges, river banks, swamps and lagoons with a view to ascertain their mission around the water bodies, commended Sgt. Bankole for his vigilance.

Shortly before she was killed, Ms McKee, who was covering the riots, had posted an image from the scene of the riots on Twitter. She captioned it: "Derry tonight. Absolute madness." Shocking footage posted to social media shows a gunman in a mask taking cover near the rioters before firing two shots. Seconds later screams are heard coming from the other end of the road. " Assistant chief constable Mark Hamilton described the killing as "not only a murder of a young woman, it is an attack again on the people of this city." Friends who are mourning McKee de
