A white man fined for sending banana to a black customer in London

  A 20-year-old man has been fined for sending banana to a black customer in a Whetherspoon pub in south-east London.   Louie Kincella appeared at Bexley Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, where he was found guilty of a racially aggravated offence under the Public Order Act.   Kincella from Mottingham, was fined £600. He was also ordered to pay court costs of £620 and a victim surcharge of £60 following the hearing.   The black customer, Mark D'arcy-Smith was drinking with a friend at The Richmal Crompton in Bromley, south-east London, when the fruit was delivered to his table.   Kincella ordered the 30p banana using the pub chain's app - which allows customers to buy food and drink and have it delivered to a table - during a visit in November last year.   Speaking to BBC earlier, Mr D'arcy said he was left feeling "upset, shocked and scared" when it arrived and reported what had happened to the Met.   Kincella was subsequently arrested on 17 January and...

Young woman raped by 11 men and thrown to her death from building after being lured by 'friend'

  A 19-year-old woman has died after being gang-raped by at least 11 men and thrown from the sixth floor of a building.   Hamdi Mohamed Farah was lured to meet a male friend on Friday last week, September 11, but was attacked by a group of men in Mogadishu, Somalia.   11 arrests have been made so far and police say they are still trying to identify other suspects.   Student Hamdi had been set to enrol in college and her death has sparked huge protests around the country.   In a statement, police said: "We have arrested 11 people over the recent rape case in Wabari neighbourhood in Mogadishu and efforts to track and identify other suspects are ongoing."     According to local media, Hamdi left her home at midday after arranging to meet a friend.   Her family later received a heartbreaking phone call informing them that her body was in a morgue.   MP Mustaf Sheikh Ali Duhulow told reporters: "The rape and killing of Hamdi se...

Hotelier shot dead by unknown gunmen in Osun

  A popular hotelier named Falola Oke Olawuyi, has been shot dead by unknown gunmen in Ilesha, Osun State. The proprietor of Falola Hotel and Rental Services was gunned down close to his residence around 9.30pm on Wednesday, September 16. A source who confirmed the incident on Thursday, said that the gunmen shot Oke at close range and immediately fled the scene. Spokesman of the Osun State Police Command, Yemisi has confirmed the incident.   Meanwhile, friends have taken to Facebook to mourn the deceased. Jerry Harris, 21, charged with producing child pornography after admitting he had 'anal and oral sex' with a 15-year-old boy

  Jerry Harris, one of the stars of the Netflix documentary series Cheer, has been arrested and charged with producing child pornography.   The American TV personality, 21, was arrested on Thursday morning, September 17, and charged with one count of producing child pornography, the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Illinois said.     The arrest comes three days after 14-year-old twin boys, Charlie and Sam, filed a lawsuit alleging he sent them sexually explicit photos of himself and cornered one of them in a bathroom and begged for oral sex when they were 13 years old.    Harris admitted during an interview after FBI agents raided his home on Monday that he had asked one of the twins to send him photographs and videos of his penis and buttocks on Snapchat. A Kentucky man charged with killing and dismembering his girlfriend

  A Kentucky man has been charged in connection with the gruesome murder of his girlfriend who was dismembered before her body parts were hauled in suitcases all the way to south suburban Markham.   Police said Melvin Martin Jr., 30, who was initially charged as a fugitive took his girlfriend’s remains on a Greyhound bus to visit family in Markham, traveling more than five hours with the body parts to the Chicago Greyhound station at 630 W. Harrison St.   Markham spokesman, Michael Taylor said in a statement that Martin was arrested on Monday at the Markham Public Library after curious family members made the discovery.    The spokesman said some parts of the woman’s body were found in Illinois, while the other half was found in Kentucky.    'A severed head and other body parts were found in the bags, while police in Kentucky found the woman’s torso,' he said.   'Martin had been staying with family for about a week, and family members became ...

Man shot for not wearing face mask

  A soldier allegedly shot a 27-year-old man in South Africa during an argument over why he was not wearing a face mask in line with Covid-19 regulations.   Police spokesperson Brig Motlafela Mojapelo, who confirmed the report on Friday, said the incident happened at a shopping complex in Mogwadi, Limpopo, on Thursday, September 17.   “Members of the national defence force were reportedly on duty monitoring Covid-19 compliance in the area when they approached a group of people who were not wearing face masks," Mojapelo said on Friday.   "When asked why they were not wearing masks, an argument allegedly ensued and one of the soldiers shot the victim. The injured 27-year-old man was rushed to hospital.   "The soldier, aged 29, was arrested and charged with attempted murder,” said Mojapelo. The soldier is due to appear in the Morebeng magistrate's court on Friday.  

Presidential Task Force (PTF) - Late reporting caused most Coronavirus deaths

  The Presidential Task Force (PTF) has revealed that most of the COVID-19 deaths recorded in the country was as a result of reporting late for treatment.    Minister of Health Dr. Osagie Ehanire who said this during the briefing of the PTF on COVID-19 in Abuja, stated that some late Coronavirus patients reported to health facilities when their conditions had worsened.   Ehanire said;     “As of this morning, the Federal Ministry of Health has recorded 56,604 covid-19 positive cases out of a total of 482,321 samples tested, giving a positivity rate of 11.7 per cent.  47,872 persons have been treated and discharged, but we have sadly lost 1,091 persons to the disease. “Our objective is still to lower the case fatality rate to less than one per cent, but an additional challenge we have observed is that most fatalities are among those reporting late for treatment, when their clinical condition has worsened. “The delay in deciding wheth...

Governor Zulum cries out - Boko Haram are now recruiting our children

  Governor Babagana Zulum has raised an alarm of children being recruited into the Boko Haram terrorist group.    The Governor said this while receiving a committee of members of the House Of Representatives at his office in Maiduguri, Borno State capital.   Zulum who linked the recruitment of kids into the terrorist group to the high rate of unemployment in the state, also revealed that there are more than 700,000 Internally Displaced Persons in Monguno and another 400,000 in Gamboru Ngala without access to their farmlands.   He said;    "The only solution we have now is to ensure the safe return of our people to their homes in a dignified manner. Two men arrested for phone theft

  The Special Squad of the Bayelsa State Vigilante Security Outfit has arrested a 26-year-old man identified as Lucky, for allegedly stealing a mobile phone in Yenagoa.   The suspect, said to be an indigene of Ekeremor Local Government Area, was arrested on Friday September 18, by the Secretary of the Bayelsa State Vigilante Service, Innocent Kalaingo, who led men of outfit on the operation.   Kalaingo said the suspect was arrested after series of tracking and investigation, disclosing that the suspect after stealing the phone gave it to his friend to sell.   It was gathered that the case was reported to the security outfit by another resident of the neighbourhood identified as Miss Chizoba, who was wrongly accused of stealing the phone as she was in the room at the time the phone was reportedly stolen, a situation which has generated suspicion and bad blood against her.   Upon investigation by the State Vigilante Service, the phone was traced to one M...

US to ban TikTok

  The Department of Commerce has announced that TikTok and WeChat will be banned from app stores in the U.S. from Sunday, September 20, amid national security concerns.   In a press release on Friday September 18, the department stated:  'In response to President Trump's Executive Orders signed August 6, 2020, the Department of Commerce (Commerce) today announced prohibitions on transactions relating to mobile applications (apps) WeChat and TikTok to safeguard the national security of the United States. Man sentenced for posing as a lady to defraud men

  Justice Sikiru Oyinloye of the Kwara state High Court has sentenced 29-year-old Usman Muhammed, pictured above, to six months imprisonment for posing as a lady and using nude photos of some women to dupe innocent men.   Muhammed was dragged before the court by the Ilorin zonal office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on a one-count charge of impersonation.   Adenike Ayoku, an operative of the EFCC told the court that Muhammed who was arrested in his residence in Abeokuta in Ogun State is an internet fraudster who pretended to be female and used female nude photographs sourced online to fraudulently obtain money from unsuspecting internet users as evidenced in his Facebook and WhatsApp accounts. Girl who went missing found in hotel room

  A Nigerian lady has narrated how a 17-year-old girl who was declared missing by her parents, was found in a hotel with two boys.    According to Annastecia Mary Lyon, the teenager was enrolled as a student in her makeup studio by her family. Woman confess of infecting men with HIV

  A Kenyan woman, Jackline Njoki Mwangi has revealed that she knowingly infected men with HIV to punish them for not using protection.   Mwangi, also known as Kiki wa Ng’endo, was first diagnosed with HIV as a teenager after sleeping with men for money to take care of herself and her nephew.
