                                A monkey kidnapped a two-year-old boy from his home in India so it could have someone to play with and it refused to give the boy back to his family. In a video shared online, the monkey can be seen playing with the boy by the roadside. The monkey is seen at a point trying to remove something from the child's hair. A woman sees the baby and can be seen approaching to save the baby, but the monkey hugs the baby repeatedly and refuses to let it go. In the viral video, the woman can be heard saying: "From where did you get the baby, Let me take it home." As the woman tried to take the child, the monkey hugged the boy and refused to let the woman take him along with her. Young man stoned to death by suspected cultists in broad daylight in Makurdi

                                A young man was on Monday, stoned to death by a mob at the Modern Market area of Makurdi, Benue State capital.   It was gathered that the deceased identified as Oniha Ragnar Donald, who worked as an agent at AIRTEL, was pursued by his assailants from somewhere else in broad daylight until he was caught up with at the market junction.   The assailants smashed the deceased’s head with stones and left him in the pool of his own blood where he eventually died.         Spokesperson for the State police command, DSP Moses Joel Yamu, who confirmed the incident, said that it was a suspected case of rival cult clash, adding that before operatives of the command could reach the place, the young man had already died.   Yamu said the police got a distress call which suggested that some cult boys were fighting but that, “the boy...

A Nigerian nanny has been found guilty of murdering an 8-month-old baby by force-feeding her half a pint of milk in less than 30 seconds. Oluremi Adeleye, 73, was trusted with the care of 8-month-old Enita Salubi in Maryland. But the nanny was captured on a nanny cam taking the teat off a bottle as she forced the child to guzzle down baby formula in October 2016. Prosecutors say the carer performed the sickening punishment after the baby’s crying woke her from a nap, according to the Washington Post. In footage from the nanny cam, Enita could be seen struggling as Adeleye tipped the contents of a nearly full bottle into her mouth – drowning her with the milk. The toddler then collapsed but Adeleye picked her up and even tried to force her to drink another bottle of milk. Body of missing Kenyan Human Rights activist found in mortuary

  A Kenyan Human Rights activist, who has been missing since last week has been found dead.   Caroline Mwatha’s body was found at the City Mortuary after two key suspects provided clues.   A detective involved in the probe said that those arrested are a woman who owns a clinic and a doctor who practices there.   Police said investigations have shown that Mwatha died at the clinic where she had sought unspecified medical services before her body was taken to the mortuary.         Police Spokesman Charles Owino, who confirmed the incident, said that the Directorate of Criminal Investigations is finalizing investigations before the two are charged over the death.   Over the weekend, Mwatha’s family and colleagues were engaged in a frantic search for her at all the main hospitals and the City Mortuary, but it proved futile.   According to sources, the body was taken to the morgue and booked under a diff...

44-year-old man arrested for allegedly raping 6-year-old girl in Ogun

                          44-year-old, Rafiu Moruf, has been arrested by men of the Ogun state police command, for allegedly defiling his neighbour’s six-year-old daughter at their home located behind Aferiku Secondary School, Idiroko in the state on Monday February 11th. A statement released by the spokesperson of the command, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said the victim opened up to her mother after she noticed her daughter's awkward movement. “Upon close examination, the woman discovered semen inside the girl’s private part. Immigration arrests two suspected human traffickers in Katsina State, rescue nine children

      The Katsina state command of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) has arrested two suspected human traffickers and rescued nine suspected victims in the state. The command comptroller, Joshua Ajisafe, who confirmed the development in a statement said that the arrest was achieved through an intelligence reports by the command provost. Plane crash kills five people in Kenya

                                  Five people have died after a small plane carrying them from Kenya’s Maasai Mara nature reserve crashed in the west of the country. According to Edward Mwamburi, police chief for the Rift Valley region, “there were five occupants in the plane and they did not survive”. He said the Cessna plane was heading from the Maasai Mara to Lodwar, near Lake Turkana and emergency services have been sent to the scene.   According to the International Air Transport Association (IATA) in 2014, some 130,000 planes land and take off from Kenya each year, and the country has 35 operating airlines. Woman who killed her 6-year-old stepdaughter by slitting her throat executed in Saudi Arabia

A  Saudi woman who was convicted of murdering her 6-year-old stepdaughter by mercilessly slitting her throat two years ago was executed in the Eastern Province region of Al-Ahsa on Monday. The woman took the girl out of her school as she was playing in the yard, taking advantage of the fact that they lived together in the same house and were known to each other. She then took the girl to a deserted area near the school and slaughtered her using a kitchen knife. The woman returned home as if nothing had happened. A woman who was raped and battered in her hotel room after front desk gave her room key to a man whose advances she rejected, has been settled by the hotel. Cheri Marchionda was staying at the Embassy Suites hotel in Des Moines in April 2014 as part of a business trip. While in the hotel's bar, a man later identified as Christopher LaPointe of New York, approached her. She rejected his advances and later went to bed. But she woke up to find LaPointe in her hotel room touching her leg. He then battered and sexually assaulted her over several hours. Police later learned that LaPointe had asked the front desk for a key to Marchionda's room and they gave him the key without asking him to show proof that he was registered to the room or even a hotel guest. #WalteGate:Onnoghen pleads not guilty to all charges, granted bail on self recognition

                             Suspended Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen, has left the premises of the Code of Conduct Tribunal CCT after he pleaded not guilty to the six charges levelled against him by the Federal government.  He was granted bail by the tribunal on self recognition. The trial was adjourned till March 11th. Onnoghen arrived the CT premises this morning, two days after a bench warrant for his arrest was issued by the Tribunal. The bench warrant has since been withdrawn.

Man sentenced to 10 years imprisonment with hard labour for defiling a 10-year-old disabled girl

The Nkukula Magistrate Court in Lilongwe, Malawi on Monday, sentenced to 10 years imprisonment with hard labour Dickson Kamwendo, 28, for defiling a 10-year-old disabled girl at Area 49 in the capital. Kamwendo was arrested on January 31 2019 after being caught defiling the standard two learner in one of the unfinished buildings. Parents of the victim said they hired the convict in 2017 to be transporting the girl to and from school Kanengo Police deputy spokesperson, Salomy Zgambo Chibwana, said police prosecutor Madalitso Jere asked for stiff punishment. “The parents trusted him with their child but he took advantage of her disability and defiled her,” Chibwana said. In mitigation, Kamwendo pleaded with the court for mercy as he is a bread winner for his family. However, First Grade Magistrate Cecilia Onsewa said the convict deserved stiff punishment to deter would-be offenders. Two children have been injured after a car hit a group of pedestrians outside a primary school in England this morning. The car reportedly went up the kerb and hit a bus stop, injuring 6 people.  The accident occurred shortly after 8.30am at a time when the area would have been busy with parents dropping off their children. A witness at the scene, which was covered in thick fog this morning, told local reporters that the car had hit a bus stop. They said: I ran outside after hearing a huge bang – it was a really deep thud. It seems as though the car has gone up the kerb, which is quite a way down, and ploughed into the bus stop. Ugandan man strangles his eight-year-son to death over two pieces of meat

Police in Manafwa District, Uganda have arrested a 43-year-old man over killing his biological son after he found out that he had eaten two pieces of meat kept for him by his wife. The suspect, who is a resident of Buwamwibi village, Maefe parish in Maefe Sub-county strangled his son to death on Wednesday evening upon discovering that he had eaten his meat. The deceased was an eight year old pupil at Maefe Primary School. The District Police Commander (DPC) Mr Denis Kamugisha confirmed the incident and the arrest. “The suspect killed his son after he found out the he had eaten his meat kept for him by his wife, who was away when the incident happened. We were alerted and have arrested him,” he said. Mr Kamugisha said the suspect, who is currently detained at Manafwa Central Police station, will be charged with murder after the investigations. Assailants suspected to be political thugs have murdered a middle-aged man close at a ghetto area in Ibadan, leaving his severed body close to a popular joint in the area. The man, said to have been murdered overnight of Wednesday, at Asaka, along Gege area at Ibadan surburb, was found with his head cut off, genitals and intestines removed at the location where his body was dropped. Notorious paedophile who abused 276 children in a year is jailed for life in Colombia

A notorious Colombian paedophile who abused hundreds of children in a year has been jailed for life. The convict,  Juan Carlos Sanchez Latorre  dubbed the ' Big Bad Wolf , the alias he used to share images and videos of abuse he sold online. According to Mail Online, the 37-year-old had been on the run for five years until he was arrested in Venezuela with a fake identity card a year ago. He was then extradited back to Colombia to face trial where he pleaded guilty to sexually abusing 276 boys and girls, all 14 years old or under. Colombian prosecutors said the period of abuse took place over 12 months between 2007 and 2008. Prosecutors also said he approached his victims online and met them at shopping centres, offering them money and sweets in exchange for sex, before abusing them at his home.                                        A schoolgirl who left Britain in 2015, when she was only 15, to join ISIS has been found heavily pregnant and she wants to return home. Shamima Begum, a former east London schoolgirl, was tracked down by The Times to a refugee camp in northern Syria. Shamima, now 19 years old, is the wife of an Islamic State fighter. She is nine months pregnant and has had two other infant children who are dead. Her husband is in captivity. Shamima was one of three schoolgirls – along with Kadiza Sultana and Amira Abase – from Bethnal Green Academy who left their homes in February 2015 to join a fourth Bethnal Green schoolgirl in Syria who had left London the year before.
