44-year-old, Rafiu Moruf, has been arrested by men of the Ogun state police command, for allegedly defiling his neighbour’s six-year-old daughter at their home located behind Aferiku Secondary School, Idiroko in the state on Monday February 11th.
A statement released by the spokesperson of the command, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said the victim opened up to her mother after she noticed her daughter's awkward movement.
“Upon close examination, the woman discovered semen inside the girl’s private part. She questioned the girl and she revealed that the suspect took her into his room and had carnal knowledge of her. The woman reported at the Idiroko Police station and detectives went to the suspect’s house where he was promptly arrested.
On interrogation, the suspect confessed to the commission of the crime. The victim has been taken to hospital for medical treatment and report'' Oyeyemi said
The statement added that the state Commissioner of Police Ahmed Iliyasu has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to Anti Human trafficking and Child labour Unit of the State Criminal investigation and intelligence Department (SCIID) for proper investigation and prosecution.

The Oyo state govt cancels curfew
