Guys, so I went to Monifee supermarket at itedo Lekki to get stuff, I got to the counter and after the staff checked my items, she said my bill was 570. I found that really odd because I bought 2 M&Ms. I tell the staff to check the items again as 570 was too cheap. The items were 1 pack of Vicks blue, 1 big bottle water and 2 M&Ms. She says it's 570. The joint Admissions and Matriculation Board said on Sunday that it had suspended its employee, Philomina Chieshe, on account of N36m which was reported to have been swallowed by a snake in the board’s office in Makurdi, Benue State. The JAMB Head of Information, Fabian Benjamin, told our correspondent on Sunday that the board was taking her through other disciplinary measures while security agencies were investigating the matter. Benjamin said, “She has been suspended and she is going through all other disciplinary procedures while the investigation is ongoing on the matter. Her claim was that a snake came into the office and swallowed the N36m proceeds.” It was learnt that Chieshe explained in her statement that a “mystery snake” sneaked into JAMB accounts office and made away with the N36m cash. Mike Okiro,  the Chairman of the  Police Service Commission  has said more than 150,000 policemen are attached to VIPs and unauthourised persons in the country. Okiro said this in an interview with NAN on Sunday in Abuja. “We cannot afford to have more than half of the population of the Police in private hands,”  he said.   He said the Commission, in conjunction with the Nigeria Police Force, had commenced the implementation of the withdrawal of policemen, but the exercise was stalled due to lack of fund.   “We could not sustain the enforcement of the order on the withdrawal of policemen attached to unqualified persons in the country because of lack of fund,”  Okiro said. He expressed disappointment at the practice whereby persons who were ministers about 10 or 15 years ago still go about with Police security. The police in Benue are searching for four officers following an attack on a patrol team in Logo Local Government Area on Saturday afternoon, PREMIUM TIMES has learnt. The men were returning from a confidence-building mission in remote villages when suspected herdsmen opened fire on them in Tse Akpam village, near Azege town, police and residents told PREMIUM TIMES. “We had had an encounter around Azege when a team of mobile police went on confidence patrol,” said police commissioner Fatai Owoseni. “When they were coming back at a point in Azege, they started hearing gunfire from inside the bush suspected to be from the herdsmen.There was a serious exchange of gunfire.” Mr. Owoseni said the attackers burnt a police van and four officers could not be found as at 7:20 p.m. Saturday. “One of our vehicles was set ablaze.       The Department of State Security Services, SSS, on Saturday told President Muhammadu Buhari that three University of Maiduguri, UNIMAID, lecturers abducted by Boko Haram terrorists in Magumeri, Borno State, have been released. Also released are 10 women, kidnapped in a raid by the militant group on a military/police convoy on Damboa road, near Maiduguri. The university lecturers were abducted by the group while conducting oil prospective in the Lake Chad area on behalf of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC.
