                             Police arrest 14-year-old suspected female kidnapper in Katsina
The Katsina State Police Command on Wednesday, paraded a 14-year-old suspected female kidnapper alongside other suspects arrested for various crimes in the state.
 
Spokesperson for the Command, SP Isah Gambo said that on April 11, based on credible intelligence, the Command raided a criminal hideout at Sabon Layin Sira village, Kafur LGA of Katsina state.
 
"After a fierce encounter with the bandits, the Police team succeeded in dislodging them.  A search was immediately carried out in the camp and the following exhibits were recovered:
One Travor-21 Rifle No.38801176
Seventy nine rounds of 5.6mm live ammunition
One unregistered Boxer Motorcycle
National ID Card"
 
"However, on the same date, one Safiya Alh Yakubu, ‘f’, aged 14yrs of Runka village, of Safana LGA of Katsina state was arrested roaming around the camp.  In the course of investigation, she confessed to be the wife of the owner of the recovered rifle, one Alh Yakubu of Runka village, Safana LGA of Katsina state and mentioned three others now at large.  Investigation is ongoing"

Lagos peaks again as Nigeria records 329 more Coronavirus cases

                                Nigeria recorded 329 more cases of Coronavirus on Friday, with Lagos topping the chat with 113 new infections. With the figures, Nigeria’s total confirmed Coronavirus cases is put at 48,445. Though, the fresh cases recorded by the nation is still on the lower side when compared with the 373 cases raked in on Thursday, the rise in infections in Lagos greatly boosted the new figures. Lagos’ 113 new cases is almost twice the 69 cases it recorded on Thursday. The 329 new cases were recorded in 21 states in the nation. Kaduna came a distant second with 49 cases, with FCT following with 33 cases; Plateau, 24 cases; Kano, 16 cases; Edo, 15 cases; Ogun, 14 cases; Delta, 13 cases and Osun, 10 cases. Two friends arrested for allegedly gangraping 17-year-old girl in Jigawa

  Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Jigawa State Command, have arrested two men, Abubakar Usman (18yrs) and Ya'u Sa'idu (20yrs) both of Gidan Ruwa Quarters, Kazaure LGA for allegedly gangraping a Seventeen (17) year old girl of the same address.   A statement released by the spokesperson of the command, Adamu Shehu, says the two friends connived and gained unlawful entry into the family house of the victim on Wednesday, 9th September 2020 around 4am.   ''They met her asleep in her room with her two sisters.
