                             Police arrest 14-year-old suspected female kidnapper in Katsina
The Katsina State Police Command on Wednesday, paraded a 14-year-old suspected female kidnapper alongside other suspects arrested for various crimes in the state.
 
Spokesperson for the Command, SP Isah Gambo said that on April 11, based on credible intelligence, the Command raided a criminal hideout at Sabon Layin Sira village, Kafur LGA of Katsina state.
 
"After a fierce encounter with the bandits, the Police team succeeded in dislodging them.  A search was immediately carried out in the camp and the following exhibits were recovered:
One Travor-21 Rifle No.38801176
Seventy nine rounds of 5.6mm live ammunition
One unregistered Boxer Motorcycle
National ID Card"
 
"However, on the same date, one Safiya Alh Yakubu, ‘f’, aged 14yrs of Runka village, of Safana LGA of Katsina state was arrested roaming around the camp.  In the course of investigation, she confessed to be the wife of the owner of the recovered rifle, one Alh Yakubu of Runka village, Safana LGA of Katsina state and mentioned three others now at large.  Investigation is ongoing"

•Federal service should get its act together Bad news about the frequency of fire outbreaks as well as the inadequacies of fire management in the country is worrying indeed.  According to a report, there were “about 50 fire outbreaks recorded in a space of one week and 40 of them occurring in Lagos State alone.” Following a major fire outbreak at a plastic factory in Oshodi, Lagos, the Commissioner for Special Duties and Intergovernmental Relations, Seyi Oladejo, reportedly said the state recorded about 40 fire incidents in two days, between February 17 and 19. The Oyo state govt cancels curfew

  The Oyo State government has announced the cancellation of the 10pm to 4am curfew earlier imposed on the state as part of measures to contain the spread of the novel Coronavirus.   A statement released by the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Makinde,Taiwo Adisa, on Thursday September 3, says the state government decided to abolish the curfew after series of reviews.   According to the statement, the decision to abolish the curfew was premised on the need to reduce the burden on business owners in the state who have been adversely affected by the curfew.   The government noted that statistics show that COVID-19 cases were declining in the state.
