A migrant boy, 8, has died in US government custody, making him the second child to die in detention this month.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) said the unnamed boy died shortly after midnight on Christmas day.
The boy reportedly showed 'signs of potential illness' on Monday and was taken with his father to a hospital in Alamogordo, New Mexico. There, he was diagnosed with a cold and a fever and given medication. He was released on Monday afternoon but returned to the same hospital in the evening with nausea and vomiting. He died just hours later.

The cause of death has not yet been determined.
This comes only weeks after a seven-year-old Guatemalan girl died after being apprehended by border agents. The body of Jakelin Caal, who died earlier this month, was returned to her family’s remote village on Monday.

Nigeria Police speak on alleged plot to kill whistle blower

The Zone 5 headquarters of the Nigerian Police Force, Benin, has debunked any plot to eliminate one Ovie Osiebe-Franklin, an alleged whistle blower, and one other Anodeh Brave. Sani Mohammed, a member of a 5-man kidnap gang arrested by operatives of the IGP’s Intelligence Response Team, has disclosed that they would have made about N500 million from kidnapping wealthy victims in Abuja, and Kaduna, this December, had they not been arrested. Attahiru Bafarawa A Sokoto State High Court on Tuesday reserved July 4, for judgment in the alleged N15 billion corruption charges against former Sokoto State Governor, Attahiru Bafarawa.
