SCDC arrests illegal private guards in Osun State

The PGC and PR Unite of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Osun state Command on Friday, went on "Operation Flush out illegal Private Guards" in the state.
Many private guards were arrested and sensitisation was made in some private institutions visited.

Court Admits Evidence Showing How Ex-Kano Gov, Shekarau, Two Others Shared N950m Diezani Bribe

                                       The trial of a former governor of Kano State, Ibrahim Shekarau, continued on February 1, 2019 with Justice Lewis Allagoa of a Federal High Court, Kano, admitting in evidence, the statements made by Shekarau and two others with whom he is facing money laundering charges. Shekarau is standing trial along with Aminu Bashir Wali and Mansur Ahmed on a six-count charge of conspiracy and money laundering to the tune of N950, 000, 000 (Nine Hundred and Fifty Million Naira) only. Vietnam authorities seize 3.3 tonnes of pangolin scales in a container from Nigeria

                   The customs office at Saigon Port under the Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department on May 3 seized an additional 3.3 tonnes of pangolin scales illegally imported from Africa. The container was declared by Tan Vinh Thinh Trade Co. Ltd to contain dried cashew nuts. It was in transit to Cambodia from Nigeria. After examining, the customs office and the Anti-Smuggling Police Department (C74) under the Ministry of Public Security found the pangolin scales contained in bags and covered by cashew nut bags. The city’s customs force is working with relevant agencies to further investigate the case. On April 27, HCM City’s Customs Department also seized nearly 3.8 tonnes of pangolin scales, illegally imported to Cat Lai Port in district 2. The pangolin scales were hidden in bags, in the middle of two containers, surrounded by timber blocks in order to escape the attention...
