Breaking: Winnie Mandela has died at the age of 81
Anti-apartheid activist, Nomzamo Winifred Madikizela-Mandela‚ has died at the age of 81.
Her Personal Assistant‚ Zodwa Zwane‚ who confirmed the struggle veteran’s death on Monday afternoon, April 2, said the family would be issuing a statement later in the day.
Born in Bizana in the Eastern Cape in 1936‚ she moved to Johannesburg to study social work after matriculating.
She met lawyer and anti-apartheid activist Nelson Mandela in 1957 and they were married a year later. They had two children together.
However‚ her marriage life with Mandela was short-lived‚ as he was arrested in 1963 and sentenced to life imprisonment for treason. Mandela was eventually released in 1990.

Eleven Nigerians die of COVID-19 in South Africa

  The Nigerian Union in South Africa (NUSA) Says 11 Nigerians have so far died of COVID-19 in the country.   In a statement released, the president of the union, Adetola Olubajo, said that the COVID-19 deaths were for Gauteng Province alone, adding that the union is yet to receive figures from eight other provinces in South Africa. He cautioned Nigerians who still do not believe the disease to do so and take all the protocols seriously.   “At the last count, 11 Nigerians have died from COVID-19 in Gauteng Province alone. Two Nigerians arrested at Cambodia Airport with drugs in their stomachs appear in court

Two Nigerian men arrested for smuggling 1.27 kilograms of cocaine in one of the men's stomachs have had their hearing postponed to seek evidence on whether they knew each other or had accidentally met at the airport. Phnom Penh Municipal Court presiding judge Heng Kesro on Tuesday, April 18th, ordered the postponement until  April 28  to clarify what the relationship between the men was. Okafor Ifeanyi Anthony, 42, and Adibe Paschal, also known as Oscar, 33, flew into Cambodia from Nigeria in May last year on a Qatar Airways flight after a transit in Dubai.
