Police arrest notorious pipeline vandal in Bayelsa State

The Bayelsa State Police Command on Tuesday, arrested a suspected cult member and pipeline vandal, Temona Boleigha Alison.
The Spokesman for the command, DSP Asinim Butswats, who confirmed the arrest, said Alison’s arrest was made possible due to a tip to the state’s Strike Force, a team specialised in tracking down wanted criminals.

Alison, said to be a member of a crime syndicate, has been linked to the vandalism of several oil pipelines in different parts of the state.
Butwats said Alison was arrested in possession of four hand grenades, one live cartridge, a pair of military uniform, one machete, one SIM card, and twelve wraps of substance suspected to be cocaine.
"The suspect is undergoing a thorough interrogation, " he said.

Police close in on Turkish School pupils’ abductors.

The police have discovered where the kidnappers who abducted 10 students and staff of the Nigerian Turkish International College are keeping their hostages, it was learnt yesterday A top police source, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said the identities of the kidnappers had also been uncovered. The location, he added, was in the creeks, but detectives who were on the abductors’ trail could not access the place for fear of endangering the captives. “We know the exact location in the creek where the children and members of staff are kept but we cannot storm the place because the lives of the children are in danger. “We would not make mistake of attempting the creek because there is no how the kidnappers will not see us coming and they may end up killing their victims.
