Grand Rapids Drive forward, Zeke Upshaw died on Monday morning after he collapsed during the team's G League game on Saturday against the Long Island Nets at DeltaPlex Arena in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He was 26.  

The Drive provided a statement from Jewel Upshaw, the Chicago native's mother saying  "After continued efforts from the medical team at Spectrum Health, Zeke made his transition at 11:16 a.m. To family, friends, teammates, coaches, fans and confidants, thank you for your prayers and support during this most difficult time."

It was reported that Upshaw went into cardiac arrest on Saturday during the game. A cause of death was not immediately released.

Child traffickers arrested in Anambra State.

Operatives of the Department of State Services and the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons have arrested 11 suspected traffickers in some parts of Anambra State in a joint operation and  also rescued three children, whose ages ranged from eight months to four years, from the custody of the syndicate.                    The parents of the rescued children had yet to be located. It was gathered by Punchng that the suspects comprising eight women and three men belonged to a criminal syndicate that specialised in the kidnapping and sale of babies in Southeast states, Lagos and Abuja. According to  NAPTIP ,  scores of children, yet to be traced, are believed to have been trafficked by the gang. Corpses discovered near police checkpoint

                                                 Two lifeless bodies were on Friday discovered in a forest near a police checkpoint between Enugu and Ebonyi states. The bodies were discovered by stranded passengers who were held up because of a clash between police officers and a lorry driver. A driver of a lorry loaded with yams was stopped at the checkpoint by officers and the driver allegedly gave them N500, which they rejected. It was gathered that the officers had demanded N1,000 from the driver but he refused to pay. Trouble started when the driver resisted an attempt by the officers to deflate the tyres of his vehicle. He was subsequently beaten up by the officers, leading to other drivers blocking the road in protest for over two hours.
