26-year old Basketball player, Zeke Upshaw dies after collapsing on court during G-League game

Grand Rapids Drive forward, Zeke Upshaw died on Monday morning after he collapsed during the team's G League game on Saturday against the Long Island Nets at DeltaPlex Arena in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He was 26.

The Drive provided a statement from Jewel Upshaw, the Chicago native's mother saying "After continued efforts from the medical team at Spectrum Health, Zeke made his transition at 11:16 a.m. To family, friends, teammates, coaches, fans and confidants, thank you for your prayers and support during this most difficult time."

It was reported that Upshaw went into cardiac arrest on Saturday during the game. A cause of death was not immediately released.

United Nations asks individuals and nations to contribute $35bn for WHO's initiatives to fight Covid-19

United Nations Secretary General, Antonio Guterres, has called for a “quantum leap in funding” for the World Health Organisation’s (WHO) initiative to speed up the development of COVID-19 vaccine. The UN Chief said as much as $35bn would be needed in order to efficiently fund the fight against COVID-19. According to Guterres, the funding project, known as the Access to COVID-19 Tools Accelerator (ACT), has received 3 billion dollars. The initiative, which was launched at a Brussels donor conference in May, advocates for the fair distribution of future vaccines and medications to developing as well as developed countries. Foul play suspected in the death of Black college student found hanging in Atlanta

A Black man was found hanging off the MLK Bridge in Atlanta and initial report from local authorities was that the man "committed suicide". However some evidence suggest he may have been killed. A video shared online shows the Morehouse College student hanging by his neck with a metal chain, not a rope or belt. He is also seen wearing his backpack. Atlanta police were called to MLK Drive at about 6:30 p.m. Friday and wiithin hours of the body being located and without any witnesses, police closed the case and classified it as a suicide.
