Man pretending to be 'Mentally-ill' caught with N100m cheque, ATM cards, & condoms in Kwara (Photo)


A man pretending to be mentally ill was reportedly caught with N100m cheque, ATM cards, and condoms among other items in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.
Punch reported that the middle-aged man whose name could not be ascertained, as of the time of filing this report, was recently nabbed near the state Ministry of Environment and Forestry along the Ahmadu Bello Way in Ilorin.
Sources revealed when he was searched, a cheque of N100m, pictures he allegedly took with top politicians in Nigeria, four automated teller machine cards, male and female condoms, Valium injections and Infinix Hot 5 phone were found in his possession.
The insiders also added that the 'mentally-ill' man, who would have been lynched by a mob, was rescued by another man at the scene.
When Kwara State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Ajayi Okasanmi, he said he came across the photo of the fake 'mentally-ill' man circulating the internet but couldn't authoritatively confirm.

Lagos’ 113 new cases is almost twice the 69 cases it recorded on Thursday. The 329 new cases were recorded in 21 states in the nation. Kaduna came a distant second with 49 cases, with FCT following with 33 cases; Plateau, 24 cases; Kano, 16 cases; Edo, 15 cases; Ogun, 14 cases; Delta, 13 cases and Osun, 10 cases. EFCC arrests JAMB official’s accomplices over N36m swallowed by mysterious snake

                           The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has smashed a syndicate that specialises in diverting funds from the account of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board.  The EFCC also grilled a JAMB official based in Makurdi,  Philomina Chieshe , who claimed that a snake swallowed N36m which was part of the proceeds of the sale of scratch cards. Detectives at the commission said  Chieshe  revealed that the money was collected in instalments from her by her Coordinator,  Samuel Umoru . In one of the statements she volunteered to the EFCC, Chieshe who is a clerk in the Makurdi office of JAMB, was said to have revealed that the coordinator usually asked her to withdraw proceeds of the sale of the cards from her account in two banks.
