EFCC RAISES ALARM OVER JOB SCAM

It has come to the knowledge of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission that some unscrupulous individuals are seeking to exploit the current recruitment exercise in the Commission for private gain by soliciting payment from unsuspecting job seekers in order to facilitate their employment into the Commission.
This is a scam and members of the public are warned not to deal with anyone with such proposition as the agency does not collect money from jobseekers. Candidates that participated in the recent aptitude test by the Commission should  avoid falling prey to tricksters by shunning any promise of employment for a fee.  The employment process in the EFCC is open and transparent and cannot be compromised through bribery.
Members of the public are advised to report any request for money for employment into the Commission at the nearest office of the EFCC or police station.

The Oyo state govt cancels curfew

  The Oyo State government has announced the cancellation of the 10pm to 4am curfew earlier imposed on the state as part of measures to contain the spread of the novel Coronavirus.   A statement released by the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Makinde,Taiwo Adisa, on Thursday September 3, says the state government decided to abolish the curfew after series of reviews.   According to the statement, the decision to abolish the curfew was premised on the need to reduce the burden on business owners in the state who have been adversely affected by the curfew.   The government noted that statistics show that COVID-19 cases were declining in the state. THE EPIDEMIC OF FIRE OUTBREAKS

•Federal service should get its act together Bad news about the frequency of fire outbreaks as well as the inadequacies of fire management in the country is worrying indeed.  According to a report, there were “about 50 fire outbreaks recorded in a space of one week and 40 of them occurring in Lagos State alone.” Following a major fire outbreak at a plastic factory in Oshodi, Lagos, the Commissioner for Special Duties and Intergovernmental Relations, Seyi Oladejo, reportedly said the state recorded about 40 fire incidents in two days, between February 17 and 19.
