82 Chibok Schoolgirls Regain Freedom From Boko Haram

The Islamic terror group, Boko Haram has released another batch of more than 80 of the Chibok schoolgirls who were abducted in mid-April 2014.
A top military source just broke the news to Saharareporters.
According to the source, the release of the 80 abducted school girls came after further negotiations between the Islamist group and the Muhammadu Buhari administration.
The source said he was not in a position to disclose the terms of the agreement that led to today’s mass release of the Chibok school girls.
Our source revealed that that the 82 girls who just regained their freedom are currently in Banki town in Borno state awaiting airlift to an unknown destination.
The source added that once the girls are secured in a new location they would be debriefed, undergo psycological and medical tests and then be reunited with their families.

COVID-19 cases in Africa over one million

                             The number of COVID-19 cases in Africa has exceeded one million, the Africa Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) said today. The Africa CDC, in its latest situation update said that COVID-19 cases rose to 1,007,366 as of Friday afternoon. Death toll related to COVID-19 rose from 21,617 on Thursday to 22,066 on Friday. Africa CDC also reported 690,436 COVID-19 patients have recovered across the continent so far.   South Africa, the worst-hit country on the continent, has registered 538,184 confirmed COVID-19 cases so far. It is followed by Egypt, Nigeria, Algeria and Morocco, the agency said. Africa CDC also said eight countries have reported higher COVID-19 fatality rates compared to the global average. THE EPIDEMIC OF FIRE OUTBREAKS

•Federal service should get its act together Bad news about the frequency of fire outbreaks as well as the inadequacies of fire management in the country is worrying indeed.  According to a report, there were “about 50 fire outbreaks recorded in a space of one week and 40 of them occurring in Lagos State alone.” Following a major fire outbreak at a plastic factory in Oshodi, Lagos, the Commissioner for Special Duties and Intergovernmental Relations, Seyi Oladejo, reportedly said the state recorded about 40 fire incidents in two days, between February 17 and 19.
