Notorious Boko Haram terrorist captured in Bauchi, confesses to killing over 150 people in Baga

The Bauchi State Police Command said it arrest​ed of​​​ a top Boko Haram fighter, Muhammad Adamu Nafiu, who confessed to having killed over 150 people in Baga Borno State. In a statement issued on Wednesday, the state commissioner of police, Garba Umar, said that the ​25-year-old suspect is a notorious ​terrorist, who relocated to Tama village in Toro Local Government Area in order to evade arrest after the​ sect was​ dislodged by troops at Sambisa Fo​rest. 

"Preliminary investigation revealed that suspect was amon​g ​those declared by the Nigerian Army on Serial Number 176 on its wanted list​," said the police commissioner.​ 
​"H​e has voluntarily confessed to have killed over 150 people in Baga LGA of Borno State​ alone​. Case under investigation after which suspect would be handed over to the appropriate authority for discreet investigation​."

Troops destroy Boko Haram training camp, kill one insurgent

Troops of Operation Lafiya Dole deployed at a Forward Operational Base in Benisheikh have uncovered a Boko Haram training camp where instructional training was provided to its foot soldiers. Troops uncovered the Camp located in a hide out in Afa general area on Sunday morning at about 9.30 am, following a tip off that insurgents were being trained in the hideout. Armed with the information, troops immediately mobilised to the area where they conducted a cordon and search operation. During the operation, troops encountered elements of Boko Haram insurgents who were withdrawing hastily from the camp. In the shootout that ensued, troops killed one of the insurgents and recovered one Dane gun. Troops also rescued one Mallam Abba, who was held hostage in the camp by the insurgents. The entire training camp has been destroyed by the gallant troops.

Two teenagers arrested for raping 14-year-old girl in Ogun State

                            Two teenagers, Abiodun Ishola (19) and Kehinde Oloyede (18), have been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly gang-raping a 14-year-old girl in Obantoko. The Command Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said the suspects were arrested April 28, 2018 following a complaint from the victim who reported to the police. He said the victim, a hairdressing apprentice, said she was going to her boss’ shop on that day, and unknown to her, there was restriction of movement due to a sanitation exercise. He said one of the suspects, Ishola, who was sitting down in front of his father’s house informed her of the restriction of movement and asked her to come and stay in their house till the exercise ended.
