EFCC re-arraigns former Kwara State INEC secretary, Christian Nwosu on charges of accepting gratification

                      The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) today re-arraigned a former Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Administrative Secretary in Kwara State,  Christian Nwosu  on charges of accepting gratification.   Nwosu was charged alongside  Tijani Bashir,  as well as former Minister of Petroleum,  Diezani Alison-Madueke  who is still at large and one  Yisa Adedoyin , who was earlier convicted, after pleading guilty.  Nwosu had earlier pleaded guilty to receiving N30 million bribe to rig the 2015 general election results. EFCC had accused the defendants of conspiring to directly take possession of N264,880.000 which they reasonably ought to have known forms part of an unlawful act, which is gratification. Man sliced to death by helicopter that came to rescue him

A man who survived a helicopter crash was sliced to death by the blades of another helicopter when the aircraft arrived to rescue him during a rescue mission last Sunday. The victim's own helicopter crashed in a remote part of the southwestern Cauca District in Colombia and he and another man were stranded in the hillside for seven days after their craft broke down with technical issues. They had managed to survive for the week before another helicopter was sent out to find them and retrieve their crashed helicopter, which had been carrying valuable equipment. There had been four successful visits by a rescue chopper to retrieve equipment. But as the chopper arrived on the fifth rescue mission the aircraft flipped over and the blade sliced the man, killing him. The horrific moment was captured on video. Woman killed in Ibadan after serial murder suspect Shodipe fled police custody

                                      The Oyo State Police Command now has blood in its hands after a fresh murder was committed in the Akinyele area of Ibadan, the capital. The murder happened a few days after an alleged serial killer Sunday Shodipe escaped from police custody. A middle-aged woman, Mrs Olufunmilayo, was macheted to death on Friday, with Shodipe suspected as the killer, as the killing bore his imprimatur. The latest murder infuriated youths in the area to stage a protest against the police. Now the police have confirmed that indeed, Shodipe escaped from their custody and have asked residents to help with information to re-arrest him.
