                                            An unrepentant abusive boyfriend has been arrested for the third time in less than four years for allegedly beating his girlfriend and leaving her with a ruptured eardrum and more injuries. Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Dr. Rafael Azulay and charged him with felony battery. The Weston doctor beat his girlfriend in their Weston home on March 1. According to the arrest report, Azulay became enraged when a BSO deputy showed up at their home to do a welfare check on the victim following an anonymous tip to police. Immediately the deputy left after carrying out the welfare check, the Memorial Regional Hospital internist punched his girlfriend in the head and face repeatedly.                         A pilot who was the only survivor when a helicopter crashed into New York's East River (read   here ) has told officials what likely caused the crash. Richard Vance told authorities he believed a passenger's bag might have hit an emergency fuel shutoff switch in the moments before the chopper went down.  A federal official who was briefed on the investigation spoke to The Associated Press on Monday. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) said it would look at the switch, the chopper's flotation devices and the photos on passengers' cameras to figure out what caused the crash Sunday in the East River. Five passengers died in the crash. The victims include Dallas fire Officer Brian McDaniel, 26, and his high school friend Trevor Cadigan, 26, a journalist who hailed from Dallas but had recently moved to New York.                              A 20-year-old man identified as Umar Muhammad has commited suicide in Hadejia community in Jigawa state. The community members found his body dangling from a tree close to the river in the community. The reason for his action is yet unknown. Police are investigating to know what led to his action. 

                 The corpse of unidentified woman was found abandoned in a village named Batsari in Katsiana state last Sunday March 11th. Residents of the community say they do not know the woman.                An investigation has been launched after shocking photos and video of a bus crash victim who underwent a limb surgery was forced to use his amputated foot as a pillow at an Indian hospital. 28-year-old  Ghanshyam Singh , a school employee, was severely injured during a school bus accident that injured another 25 school children. In the shocking photos and video, Mr. Ghanshyam was seen laying his head on his removed limb at the  Jhansi Medical College  in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh on Saturday. Ghanshyam's family have accused doctors at the hospital of placing his amputated foot under his head as a pillow.   Relative Janaki Prasad said: 'When we reached the hospital, we saw his leg being used as a headrest. 'I repeatedly asked the doctors to intervene but they refused. Finally, after about two hours, I managed to get a pillow for him from the market and that's when the leg was removed.' According ...

                     At least 38 people have died in Ethiopia after the bus they were travelling in plunged off a cliff. The accident happened in Legambo district in the country's Amhara region, north of the capital, Addis Ababa.   Local officials have confirmed 28 men and 10 women were killed.  Ten passengers have survived but suffered "serious and minor injuries", the Fana broadcaster reported. Most of the victims of Monday's accident were "students of higher learning institutions", it added. Independent news site Addis Standard reports that the bus fell five metres. Ethiopia, Africa's fastest-growing economy, has expanded and renovated its road network in recent years. Many people rely on buses for long-distance travel.

                              An Indonesian woman was brutally killed, after she was stabbed repeatedly 28 times by her boyfriend on Saturday night. The incident took place at an apartment in Bukit Jelutong, Malaysia after the boyfriend, who had known the victim for seven months, had visited her with the intention of asking the woman to marry him. The 38-year-old victim was found with the stab wounds in her neck, throat, stomach and in the back of her body. Shah Alam OCPD, Assistant Commissioner Baharuddin Mat Taib said a neighbour passing by the rented unit spotted the victim’s bloodied remains sprawled on the floor. "The victim, who worked as an assistant in a school cafeteria in Shah Alam was stabbed with a kitchen knife which was found at the scene.
