Talented Zambia musician, composer and producer, David Phiri popularly known as Daev Zambia died in a tragic road accident on Sunday, September 27.

 

The news of his shocking demise flooded the social media and has thrown the Zambian entertainment industry into deep mourning.

The singer was popularly known for his hit songs like Ka Love and Meant To Be which featured Yo Maps.

 

According to a statement issued by Police spokesperson Esther Mwaata Katongo, three other people also died in the same accident which happened around 14:00 hours along Chirundu – Kafue road at Red Paint area.

 

Katongo revealed that Daev was driving a Toyota Vitz from Chirundu to Lusaka with four passengers when the accident happened.

“The other deceased persons have been identified by relatives as Tandiwe Njovu, a 20-year-old medical student at Levy Mwanawasa Hospital and Elton Sakala of Lusaka while the other female victims has not been identified yet,” Katongo stated.

“The victim who survived with serious head injuries has been referred to UTH in Lusaka and has not been identified yet,” she added.

 

Katongo explained that the accident happened when Daev lost control of the car and veered off the road upon which it overturned and caught fire.

 

The other female victims have now been identified as Kwetiwe Bwalya and Christabel Mukatai including the survivor, who is reported to have passed away.

 

Daev's record label has since confirmed the news in a statemen released on Sunday.

EFCC Docks Two Suspected Fraudsters over N12.8m Fraud

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Tuesday, April 25, 2017, arraigned the duo of Auwalu Ila-Sokoto and Nasiru Manjo before Justice Goodluck of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Maitama, Abuja on a 2-count charge of criminal conversion of property and issuance of dud cheque to the tune of N12.8million.                       A Reverend Father, along with other culprits, has been arrested for stealing an 18-month-old baby in Osogbo, Osun state. The child was kidnapped from his mother and sold to an orphanage. The priest, Rev. Father Chike Ejiofor, who heads Our Lady of Fatima parish in Woliwo, Onitsha, Anambra State, is believed to have unknowingly become an accomplice after a parishioner approached him that she wanted to adopt a child and he referred her to the orphanage the baby was sold to and even helped her through the process.
