Photos: 17-Storey NCDMB building to be unveiled by Buhari Thursday

                                    
President Muhammadu Buhari will on Thursday next week commission the newly completed 17-storey headquarters building of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), located at Swali, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.

Buhari will perform the commissioning virtually after undertaking a virtual tour of the Nigerian Content edifice, together with other accompanying facilities-the 1000-Seater Capacity Auditorium, Four-Level Car Park and 10 megawatts gas-fired Independent Power Plant at Elebele.
The power plant was constructed in partnership with the Nigerian Agip Oil Company (NAOC) and will provide uninterrupted electricity to the NCDMB structures, the Nigerian Oil and Gas Park being developed by the Board at Emeyal 1 Bayelsa State and select structures in the state.

Providing details of the event, the Executive Secretary of NCDMB, Engr. Simbi Kesiye Wabote explained that a part of the event will be held in Yenagoa.

He indicated that the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Chief Timipre Sylva will lead the Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Malam Mele Kyari and the Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri to participate in the event on site.

He also hinted that most of the invited dignitaries will be given opportunity to join Mr. President via the Zoom virtual meeting platform where they would witness the commissioning of the buildings.
Wabote also confirmed that the Board had concluded arrangements for live telecast of the event on the Nigerian Television Authority, Channels Television, TV Continental and Arise Television from 11.30am as well as on the Board’s social media platforms, to create ample opportunities for members of the public to witness the event.

The ultra-modern Nigerian Content Tower was started in 2015, executed by an indigenous company, Megastar Technical & Construction using mostly locally sourced materials and labour.

The project generated over 250 direct and indirect jobs and created vast opportunities for artisanal skill development.

A pastor Adetokunbo Adenopo arrested for kidnapping

                        A 52 year-old pastor in Sagamu, Ogun state, Adetokunbo Adenopo, has been arrested by detectives attached to the Intelligence Response Team (IRT) for kidnapping. The pastor who the police said is the founder and general overseer of New Life Ministry, in Lukosi, Sagamu in Ogun state was arrested along with three other members of his gang. The police identified the three suspects as Chigozie Williams 22years, native of Umuahia North, Abia State, Ugoji Linus 30years, native of Ezinifite in Imo State and Emmanuel Chris Ani, 27years, native of Aniri in Enugu State. They were all arrested in connection with the kidnap of a 35 year-old Jonathan Ekpo, staff of a delivery company. Ekpo, from Benue state was kidnapped on 17 July when he came to Sagamu to deliver goods. Dasukigate: EFCC grills Nigeria’s former Army Chief Ihejirika

Azubuike Ihejirika, a former Chief of Army Staff Anti-graft detectives at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, are questioning Azubuike Ihejirika, a former Chief of Army Staff, over his alleged involvement in the $2.1 billion arms procurement scandal, sources at the commission have informed PREMIUM TIMES. Mr. Ihejirika, a retired lieutenant-general, arrived at the EFCC headquarters in Abuja around 11:00 a.m. Wednesday and was subsequently ushered into an interrogation room, PREMIUM TIMES learnt. Mr. Ihejirika, 62, led the Nigerian Army from September 2010 to January 2014 when he was dropped by President Goodluck Jonathan over his handling of the Boko Haram war.
