Adewunmi Lawal, the Engineer who has been on the run after allegedly raping his neighbour’s daughter in the Itele, Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State, has been arrested by the police. 

 

LIB reported earlier that the 16-year-old victim was raped after the suspect broke into their apartment shortly after her mother who is a widow, travelled to Badagry in Lagos State for prayers.

 

Ogun state police spokesperson, Abimbola Oyeyemi said the suspect was arrested in Lagos and the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation.

 

Oyeyemi said; 

 

 “He was arrested two days ago. He was sighted somewhere in Lagos because he was looking for ways to persuade the parents of the girl and in the process, he went to the office of a non-governmental organisation in Lagos; he wanted the NGO to invite the victim’s mother for them to resolve.

“While he was there, we got information and quickly alerted our counterpart in Lagos that they should get him arrested for us. He was arrested at Ijaiye Ojokoro and our operatives from here went there to bring him in. As soon as we conclude investigation, he will be going to court.”

                                      The Court of Appeal in Singapore has rejected a bid by a British DJ to raise legal questions related to his sentence of 20 years' jail and 24 strokes of the cane for two sets of drug offences committed in 2016 and 2018.   Yuen Ye Ming, a London-born, Singapore-based drum and bass DJ was sentenced to 20 years imprisonment and 24 strokes of the cane on two sets of charges of trafficking, possession, and consumption.    It was the second time the 31-year-old has failed in his attempt to raise legal questions of public interest to Singapore’s highest court. Indian man chops off his finger after mistakenly voting for wrong party

                              An Indian man has chopped off his index finger after he realized he had erroneously voted for a different political party from the one he intended to vote for. In a now viral video, Pawan Kumar said he wanted to vote for a regional party but was confused by the many symbols on the voting machine, so he accidentally ended up voting for the governing Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). After he cast his vote on Thursday in Bulandshahr in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh, his finger was marked with indelible ink. In anger, he chopped off the finger.
