No fewer than six cars were burnt in a fire outbreak that rocked a mechanic shop in Sapele town, Delta state on Friday, August 7.

 

The cause of the fire outbreak is yet to be ascertained.

The Lagos State Police Command on Monday said it arrested two suspects over alleged attempted kidnap of a teenager (name withheld) in Iyana-Ipaja area of the state. EFCC Docks Two Suspected Fraudsters over N12.8m Fraud

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Tuesday, April 25, 2017, arraigned the duo of Auwalu Ila-Sokoto and Nasiru Manjo before Justice Goodluck of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Maitama, Abuja on a 2-count charge of criminal conversion of property and issuance of dud cheque to the tune of N12.8million. Ila-Sokoto, who is the alter ego of Lalle Global Ventures, allegedly issued a dud cheque sometime in April 2016, to one Fahad Shazad Bhutta, the complainant, after a failed agreement on the purchase of two Toyota cars - 2015 and 2016 model. Under the agreement, Bhutta delivered the two cars and was issued two United Bank for Africa (UBA) cheques dated 27th April, 2016 and 4th May, 2016 by Ila-Sokoto in the sum of N5million and N7.8million respectively with instructions to the bank to transfer the specified sums from his company’s account to Bhutta’s account. Nigerian Rev. Father, others, arrested for stealing baby

                      A Reverend Father, along with other culprits, has been arrested for stealing an 18-month-old baby in Osogbo, Osun state. The child was kidnapped from his mother and sold to an orphanage. The priest, Rev. Father Chike Ejiofor, who heads Our Lady of Fatima parish in Woliwo, Onitsha, Anambra State, is believed to have unknowingly become an accomplice after a parishioner approached him that she wanted to adopt a child and he referred her to the orphanage the baby was sold to and even helped her through the process. Among those arrested was 28-year-old Joy Esu. According to Punch, Joy approached the mother of 18-month-old Abdullahi Azeez at her shop in Osogbo and pretended that she wanted to learn tailoring so the mother accepted.
