Police smash car-snatching syndicate in Anambra

The Anambra State Police Command has said its operatives smashed a car-snatching syndicate operating in the state.
While 11 suspects were reportedly arrested during the operation, 11 exotic cars were recovered.
he car brands included Lexus SUV, Mercedes Benz, Toyota Corolla and Toyota Camry.
The state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Garba Umar, during a parade of the suspects and cars on Wednesday, said the command had redoubled its efforts in protecting lives and property following increased report of car robberies in the state.
He said one Christian Ojechi had reported that armed men operating on four motorcycles snatched a Mercedes Benz SUV from him when he stopped to buy some things in a shop on Abatete Road.
Umar added that in the course of investigation, one Monday  Odi, 35, resident in Ghana; Monday Chita, 28,  of School of Health Technology, Obosi; Somtochukwu Ani, 30, of Nkwelle village, Ogidi; David Akoi, 30, of Abor village; Umusiome Nkpor and Sunday Nwafor, also of School of Health Technology, Obosi, were arrested.
Other suspects, according to the police boss, are Johnson Aerfa, Chibueze Ebenyi and Chibuike Ugwu.
The CP noted that a stolen Lexus SUV was recovered from one Rasheed Abudulazez, of Durumi Area 1, Garki, Abuja, saying investigation was ongoing to arrest other members of the gang still at large.
The CP said, “Two other suspects – Azuka Uduji and Ikechukwu Ephraim– were arrested with a black Toyota Corolla 2017 model, and an unregistered blue Toyota Corolla.”
He said the suspects would be arraigned at the end of investigations.

3 people die, 8 injured during a birthday party clash in Bauchi State

                        The Bauchi State police command have confirmed that three persons were killed and eight others injured in a clash that erupted at a birthday party on Sunday night in Lushi Ward in Bauchi. The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Kamal Abubakar, confirmed the incident saying that 75 suspects had been arrested in connection with the clash.
