The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has rescued crash victims involved in a lone accident on the Lagos /Ibadan Expressway and returned over N2million recovered from the  scene to the mother of the owner.

Clement Oladele, the FRSC Sector Commander in Ogun, disclosed to NAN in Abeokuta today that the accident happened around 10:15am and it involved 11 people, comprising of three men, six female adult and two female children. The sector commander noted that though, there were no deaths recorded, nine of the passengers who included three male  and six female adults sustained serious injuries.

“The lone crash involved a Yellow Toyota LiteAce bus with registration number WWD 558 XA travelling from Ibadan to Lagos. The suspected cause of the crash was tyre burst by the speeding bus,  which lost control. The injured victims were taken to Ifeoluwa Hospital,  Ogunmakin for medical treatment and the road obstruction cleared, “he said.

The FRSC boss said the victims’ belongings inside the ill-fated bus were conveyed to FRSC Command at Ogunmakin, where on routine documentation the sum of N2.096million was recovered.

“Upon diligent investigation, a female passenger of the crashed bus, Asabi Adenike of Kuola Street, Apata, Ibadan, who sustained injuries and undergoing medical attention was identified as the owner of the bag containing the recovered money. After contacting her relatives, she authorised that the FRSC hands over the recovered money to her Mother, Mrs Bisola Adedeji“ he said.

Photos, Three killed in Osun bank robbery attack

Dare devil armed robbers today attacked a new generation commercial bank in Ila-Orangun, Osun state killing three persons, including police security.                                              The suspected armed robbers, numbering about eight, were said to have stormed the bank at about 2pm and operated for one- and- a half hours after blasting the bank’s security door with an explosive substance. A substantial amount of money was carted away from the bank.  Two other victims killed by the armed robbers were said to be hit by stray bullets while a number of people sustained various degrees of injury while trying to flee the scene. Eyewitness said police officers arrived the scene almost immediately and engaged the robbers in a fierce gun battle. 

Soldier assaults Barber for giving his daughter a wrong hairstyle in Asaba

A barber in Asaba was reportedly assulted today by some soldiers for cutting a wrong hairstyle on his daughter. Activist, Prince Gwamnishu who shared the story online wrote Received a call from a barber to please rescue his boy from further maltreatment by soldiers (fully dressed in Army Uniform). We couldn't get to the scene due to wrong address giving by the caller. (Apologies). WHAT HAPPENED The man who led the soldiers took her daughter to the saloon yesterday to cut her hair and told the barber the hair style he want for his daughter. Unfortunately, the barber couldn't perfect the hair style and the man refused to pay, took her daughter to another barber shop. At about 9:46am, this morning he stormed the barber shop with soldiers and assaulted the barber. We asked the neighbors around and they gave same statement.
