The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Tuesday May 22nd, arraigned a Bureau de Change operator from Mubi, Adamawa State, Isa Abdulkarim before Justice I.B Gafai of the Federal High Court, Awka, Anambra State on a four count charge of obtaining the sum of N20.650,000.00 (Twenty Million, Six Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira only) under false pretences.
Abdulkarim’s troubles started sometime in November 2017, when he falsely represented himself as being capable of purchasing an equivalent of N20.6 million in Cameroonian CFA from the complainant’s client but absconded with the money to Republic of Chad without purchasing the said foreign exchange.
He was arrested after efforts in retrieving the said money failed. However, investigations revealed that the money was actually transferred to his Diamond Bank account.
Abdulkarim pleaded not guilty to the charges when they were read and interpreted in Hausa language to him, prompting his counsel ,C.N Ekwueme to move for the ‎bail of his client. But the court rejected the oral application.
Justice Gafai, adjourned the case to May 25, 2018 for hearing on the matter. He remanded the defendant in prison custody.

Photos of Prince Philip drives himself again just two days after he suffered a car crash in Sandringham

Prince Philip, 97, is back behind the wheels only two days after he got involved in a car crash that left two women and a 10-month-old child injured. Prince Philip was injured in Thursday's accident after he was "dazzled by the sun" while driving his Land Rover near the Royal family's Sandringham Estate. This caused him to collide with a Kia carrying two women and an infant. His vehicle turned over and he had to be helped out by an eyewitness. Just one day earlier, his wife, Queen Elizabeth, 92, was also spotted driving herself in a Range Rover close to where Prince Philip's accident occurred. Community leader, two others shot in Plateau attacks

                        The district head of Gashis community in Plateau State and two others were shot on Sunday evening, an official has said. The transition management committee chairman of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State, Dickson Chollom, on Monday reported the shooting of the district head in his house and that of two others in a barber’s shop in Barkin Ladi by armed men. “Gwom Rwei Gashis (the district head) is unconscious and has been rushed down to Barkin Ladi general hospital,” he said.
