BAUCHI STATE POLICE COMMAND UNCOVERS TRICK USED BY CRIMINALS TO DEFRAUD INNOCENT CITEZENS AT ATM POINTS IN THE STATE

In our effort to checkmate cases of fraud at ATM points in the state, on 14/01/2018 at about 2330hrs operatives from State Intelligence Bureau (SIB) of the command arrested one Abdullahi Buhari 27yrs ‘m’ of Zoo Road, Kano, at Union Bank ATM point while attempting to defraud one Dauda Habila 36yrs ‘m’ of Yelwan Makaranta, Bauchi, under the pretense of assisting him.
The suspect and his accomplice one Umar now at large specialized in tricking bank customers while trying to withdraw money from ATM by pretending to be assisting them on how to make the withdrawal effectively, in the process they will then swap the customer’s ATM card with another one of the same bank and also memorize his PIN number, thereafter escape with his ATM card immediately to another ATM point and withdraw money from his account.
Exhibits recovered from the suspect include:
i. Twenty (20) pieces of ATM cards of different banks
ii. Two (2) National Identity Cards belonging to one Bashir Bala
iii. Two (2) MTN SIM certificates
The suspect will be charged to court after completion of investigation as soon as possible.
Finally the command is advising the general public especially bank customers not to trust any unknown person to them that may attempt to assist them at ATM points and in case for any difficulty they should contact the bank staff for assistance.

How 66 people were killed in Kaduna in two days.

The attack occurred on Monday and was a reprisal after an earlier incident that left many dead, a resident said. The details came amid controversy over the accuracy of the details provided by the Kaduna government. Nigeria Police speak on alleged plot to kill whistle blower

The Zone 5 headquarters of the Nigerian Police Force, Benin, has debunked any plot to eliminate one Ovie Osiebe-Franklin, an alleged whistle blower, and one other Anodeh Brave. This is contained in a statement released by Emeka Iheanacho, Zonal Police Public Relations Officer (ZPPRO), and made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), in Benin on Sunday. Mr Iheanacho said that the alleged whistle blower was a suspect in a case of alleged false information investigated by the FCIID, Abuja. He said that debunking the alleged elimination plot was imperative following a publication by an online publication on March 28. He said the said-publication had allegedly reported that the Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone 5 Headquarters, Benin, Rasheed Akintunde, was plotting to eliminate the whistle blower.
