Diezani's Bribe Money To INEC Staff: EFCC Secures Final Forfeiture Oder

Justice Mohammed B. Idris of the Federal High Court, sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos, today April 27, 2017 ordered the final forfeiture of the proceed of bribe given by former Petroleum Minister,
Deziani Alison Maduekwe to some staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC in the build up to the 2015 General elections.

 The properties belonging to Christian Nwosu, the convict, are a landed property measuring 100ft by 80, lying and another situated at Okotomi layout, Obodogwugwu Quarters, Okpanam, Oshimili North LG and 100ft by 50, lying in the same local government area of Delta State.

Also to be forfeited by Nwosu to the federal government is the sum of N5m (Five Million Naira) recovered from the convict.

Nwosu and two others were earlier arraigned on April 5, 2017 by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC before Honourable Justice Idris on a 7-count charge bordering on receiving gratification to the tune of N264,880,000.00 (Two hundred and sixty four million, eight hundred and eighty thousand naira) in which the convict (Nwosu) pleaded guilty of receiving N30m (thirty million naira) from the said campaign bribe money.

The convict and two others, Yisa Olanrewaju Adedoyin and Tijani Bashir had on March 27, 2015 allegedly received the slush bribe money from the former minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Allison Madueke during the administration of the former president Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, in the build up to the 2015 general elections.

The 2nd and 3rd accused persons, Adedoyin and Bashir, pleaded not guilty while Nwosu pleaded guilty to the charge against him.
The Court adjourned the matter to May 3, 2017.

Sergeant arrested for killing one and injuring 3 persons

  A Police Sergeant identified as Bello Garba has been arrested and detained for allegedly shooting one person to death and injuring three others in Sokoto on Friday September 25.    According to the state police command, the arrested policeman shot 25-year-old Aminu Abdulrahman to death and injured Junaidu Abba, Babangida Muhammad and Awaisu Alti.   Police spokesperson in the state, ASP Muhammad Sadiq said victims of the incident were sharing money doled out by Gov. A pastor Adetokunbo Adenopo arrested for kidnapping

                        A 52 year-old pastor in Sagamu, Ogun state, Adetokunbo Adenopo, has been arrested by detectives attached to the Intelligence Response Team (IRT) for kidnapping. The pastor who the police said is the founder and general overseer of New Life Ministry, in Lukosi, Sagamu in Ogun state was arrested along with three other members of his gang. The police identified the three suspects as Chigozie Williams 22years, native of Umuahia North, Abia State, Ugoji Linus 30years, native of Ezinifite in Imo State and Emmanuel Chris Ani, 27years, native of Aniri in Enugu State. They were all arrested in connection with the kidnap of a 35 year-old Jonathan Ekpo, staff of a delivery company. Ekpo, from Benue state was kidnapped on 17 July when he came to Sagamu to deliver goods.
