WELCOME LETTER

Dear all,

On behalf of the entire Afrocet Montgomery team welcome to the several editon of Securex West Africa team. Nigeria’s most established and only dedicated Security and public safety event to serve the government and the private sector in West Africa.

Securex West Africa provides a platform to display state of the art products Solutions, showcase the latest technology and educate visitors on the current global trend within the industry. In addition, it will provide an area for region and international companies to meet, network and do business with some of the biggest companies in the region requiring security products and services.

This year Securex West Africa will play host to cover over 50 local and international exhibitors, of which I am pleased to announce 22 are first timers to the show. This despite the economic challenges is testament to the robust, fast moving Security sector and underlines the huge potential on offer in the region. Along with our valued long-term exhibitors, we welcome all to the show and extend our wishes for a successful and fruitful three days of business.  

In addition to the brand which took place this year, we have introduced an exciting new feature to the show on Day 2- The West Africa Cover Security Summit (WACSS) is targeted at C-level executives from a board range of industries including banking, government, telecommunication, logistics and Oil & Gas.

Topics will cover corporate security, training the next generation, financial crime and governance. The day will also witness a live hackathon Era where visitors across the Exhibition, whether novice or trained, a much needed space in Nigeria for expert to congregate and discuss pertinent issues; sharing knowledge and expertise. This will become an annual event which will reflect the trends; pattern; challenges and opportunities in Nigeria’s cyberspace.

I’d like to take this opportunity to say thank to you all of our partners. Supporters, End-users, Media Partners, Delegates and visitors to the show for embracing our vision and being insightful in shaping the face of West Africa’s vast safety and security industries.

We have packaged the next three days to be information and interactive and we encourage you to take full advantage of your time here to network with your fellow peers, gain insight into the industry and realise new business partnerships.

                                Nigeria recorded 329 more cases of Coronavirus on Friday, with Lagos topping the chat with 113 new infections. With the figures, Nigeria’s total confirmed Coronavirus cases is put at 48,445. Horror as a whistle blower uncovers horrific abuse Chinese company in Aba allegedly subject their Nigerian staff to

                                     A whistleblower has exposed the horrific abuse and discrimination he allegedly uncovered in a Chinese company operating in Nigeria.   The Twitter user said the company located in at Umuahala, Obuzor Asa, in Ukwa West LGA of Abia State, is managed by Chinese while most of their workers are Nigerians.     However, he said the Nigerian staff are made to work under the most "dehumanizing conditions ever known to mankind".   He reported that every Nigerian staff is expected to call every Chinese staff "Master or Mistress".   He added that "male Nigerian workers are physically assaulted, while their female counterparts are sexually assaulted without any consequence."   When a Nigerian staff errs, the Chinese staff allegedly employ the services of Nigerian soldiers to discipline them mercilessly.    ...

Straying cows cause ghastly motor accident in River

Straying cows owned by suspected Fulani herdsmen caused a ghastly accident along the Port Harcourt Airport road in Rivers state. The straying cows came out from the bush, facing sn oncoming Toyota Camry. The car got damaged when the driver tried to avoid hitting the straying cows.  A witness at the scene of the accident, Ezebunwo Ichemati, shared the experience on Facebook, wrote The Rivers State Government and House Of Assembly should as a matter of urgency propose and pass into law the Anti Open Grazing bill to save our Daughters and Sons from the carelessness of these Fulani Cattle rearers on our roads. On my way back from Etche along the Port Harcourt airport road that leads to obiri Ikwerre, I saw two cows lying lifeless on the road and also a damaged toyota camry car on same road and this caused serious traffic.
