The Nigerian Army has advised members of the public to be wary as suicide bombers have devised a new method of carrying out their nefarious acts.

Col. Mustapha Anka, the Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, 7 Division, Maiduguri, gave the advice in a statement on Monday.

“This is to draw the attention of the general public to recent trend used by desperate remnants of Boko Haram Terrorists (BHT).

“Recently, two female suicide bombers knocked at the door of one Bulama and Usman about 200 meters apart in Kalari general area of Maiduguri.

“The daughter of the Bulama opened the door, while the Usman himself opened his own door immediately the suicide bombers detonated their suicide vest, in the process killing the unsuspected little girl, Usman and the two female suicide bombers.

“The general public is hereby advised to be cautious and wary of strange persons knocking on their doors.

“Security is a collective responsibility; the public is to engage in neighborhood watch,” Anka said.

He also advised that suspicious movement of persons should be reported to security agents without any delay, adding that the curfew in Maiduguri was still being enforced by 10 p.m. daily.

“Any defaulter will be prosecuted accordingly,” he warned.

Dare devil armed robbers today attacked a new generation commercial bank in Ila-Orangun, Osun state killing three persons, including police security. The suspected armed robbers, numbering about eight, were said to have stormed the bank at about 2pm and operated for one- and- a half hours after blasting the bank’s security door with an explosive substance. A substantial amount of money was carted away from the bank. Two other victims killed by the armed robbers were said to be hit by stray bullets while a number of people sustained various degrees of injury while trying to flee the scene. Police arrest seven people including a 34-year-old woman in connection with the murder of BBNaija star, Khafi's brother

Seven people have been arrested in connection with the murder of BBNaija star, Khafi's brother. Alexander Kareem, 20, was shot close to his family house in Shepherd’s Bush, West London on June 8. He was walking back home from a convenience store when he was shot in a case of mistaken identity. After the shooting, a white Range Rover, which had been seen speeding away from the crime scene, was later found burnt out. A post-mortem conducted on him showed he died from gunshot wounds to his chest and abdomen. Five men, aged 18 to 24, a boy, 16, and a woman, 34, were arrested earlier today and are in custody.
